WINCHESTER, N.H. - Jimmy Zellman stole the show Saturday on the high banks of Monadnock Speedway, passing four cars at the south end of the track with the awaiting checkers in the air to win a thrilling 50-lap Pure Stock main event.

In Saturday’s Modified feature, second generation ace Andrew Brousseau led all the way en route to his first 2026 victory, Robert Hagar topped the Limit Late Model main to punctuate his win of a night earlier at Claremont, and Justin Harris scored his first career victory in the SMAC Super Modified main event.

Brett Meservey rocketed to victory in the Pro 4 Modified division’s second run of the season on the high banks, and 12-year-old rising star Dylan Stati won for the third time in the Young Guns.

With 30 teams on hand for the added-purse Brattleboro Towing and Recovery Pure Stock 50-lapper, 24 made the starting field for the headliner. Linsey Wenzel and Ella Grabowski sat up front as chief starter Chris Horton sent them on their way, but it was Markus O’Neil quick to the front.

O’Neil took the lead from Eric Lanou on lap four and almost made it to the checkers sitting in the captain’s seat. Former track champ Andrea St. Amour and Hudson International star Chris Quinn each very much wanted the night’s top prize, and then there was Zellman, quietly up to fourth from his way-back starting spot.

Trading paint as they battled, St. Amour low-lined to lead by inches on lap 47, but O’Neil fought back. And then, in the final turn, the fireworks went off. The top three tangled, with Quinn to the wall, St. Amour back to fifth, and the opportune Zellman edging O’Neil for the big win. Steady Josh Brigham avoided the tangle for third, and last summer’s Super Street champion Dylan Zullo - aboard the CJ Johnson ride - came home fourth.

Andrew Brousseau led all the way in the caution-free All States Materials Group 604 Modified main event, taking the checkers almost a full straightaway ahead of his closest foe to notch his first victory of the year. But while Brousseau was far ahead at race’s end, many furious battles were waged behind him.

Kimmy Rivet - bidding for her first victory in more than a year after injury kept her sidelined for much of last summer - was strong in second, but Eddie Gomarlo - from row three - was determined to improve on his last event’s runner-up finish.

Gomarlo got up for second on lap 26 but on this night had nothing for the high-flying Brousseau. With Rivet in third, many-time track champ Todd Patnode was fourth, and Tyler Leary, the winner the last time out , added to his early season points lead in fifth.

Robert Hagar outgunned Michael Lashua at the drop of the green in Saturday’s Twin State Truck Services Limited Late Model main event and never looked back en route to his first win of the summer on the high banks. After a pair of close misses in previous weeks, Hagar left no doubt in this one, romping to victory a night after a similar big score at Claremont.

Points leader JD Stockwell took second from Zach Zilinski on lap 22 but could advance no further in his quest for back-to-back victories. With Zilinski impressing in third, Lashua and Hillary Renaud rounded out the top five.

Justin Harris made easy work of topping the SMAC Super Modified 50-lap main. A top star of the Dwarf Car series, Harris won for the first time in seven years in the rocketship 350 Super Modifieds.

Brad Babb held off speedway Modified champion Brian Robie for second, and former Claremont regular Haydon Grenier was fourth. Bobby Timmons III, fast all night, settled for fifth.

In the LaValley Building Supply Pro 4 Modified nightcap, Brett Meservey blasted past Rob Richardi on lap eight and sailed off into the night to score a five-length victory over Max Zachem. Richardi was third, Randy Clark - the winner here two weeks ago - fourth, and John Dumas fifth.

Dylan Stati lapped the field to win the night’s Doug’s Auto Body Young Guns feature. Maeve Barry was second under the checkers,

Monadnock Speedway returns to action next Saturday, May 23, with a special R&R Open Street Stock main event atop a full card of NASCAR Local Racing Series competition. Post time at the great race place is 6 p.m. each Saturday.
